Avatar watch order
A spoiler-light route through Aang, Korra and Pavi, with the context that makes Seven Havens easier to follow.
You can start Avatar: Seven Havens without rewatching everything, but the two earlier animated series explain the Avatar cycle, bending, the spirit world and how the world changes from one Avatar to the next. The simplest complete order is release order.

Do I need to watch Korra first?
For the basic premise, no. Seven Havens introduces Pavi as a new Avatar and can be watched on its own. For the strongest context, yes. The new series is set about 225 years after the end of The Legend of Korra, so watching Korra first gives the transition more weight without requiring spoilers from the new show.
What about the live-action series?
The Netflix live-action adaptation is a separate retelling of Aang's story. It is not required for the animated continuity and does not belong in this watch order. The animated The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are the relevant starting points.
